Features

From the beginning, Shade 3D development has been focused along the following key lines:

Modeling

Animation

Rendering

3D Printing

User Interface

Productivity and Expandability

Modeling Tools

Shade 3D's modeling approach provides a high degree of accuracy, simplicity, and predictability. From simple to complex objects, Bezier curve modeling allows definition of curved shapes using minimal information. The use of control points and tangents greatly reduces the time required for creating and editing models, as you can just click-and-drag to make adjustments in real time. Because of this click-and-drag method of adjusting control points, the modeling process is intuitive and powerful, which makes it simple for users of all levels to jump in and start modeling in Shade 3D. Advanced modeling tools, such as Subdivision Surface, Boolean Modeling, Polygonal modeling, primitive modeling and Metaballs enable users to detail and completed projects.

* Build models using curved surface, polygon mesh, meta-ball and boolean modeling tools

* Import illustrations and build models out from them as templates

* Use digital photos to generate objects based on the real world

Animation

Shade 3D offers automatic key frame creation with interpolation, to automatically animate objects. In Shade 3D, joints are used for animations, as well as for simulating movement or posing. The state of an object can be set to the state of a joint. Manual and automatic joint value settings, skin settings, motion settings, and BVH motion-capture data capability all support realistic 3D character animation. In addition, physical sunlight simulation and particle physics that help you create realistic and fluid animations. When used in conjunction with Shade 3D’s powerful rendering tools, the animation feature yields high-quality movies.

With PoserFusion, you can host and play back Poser scenes in Shade 3D. Populate Shade 3D scenes with a diverse collection of designed 3D male, female, animal and fantasy figures. Play back 3D characters that run, strut, gesture and talk. Complete Shade 3D scenes with Poser dynamic cloth that flows, drapes and animates. In addition, through OBJ support Poser users can now utilize Shade 3D to create new Poser 3D content such as figures, animals, cloth and accessories.

Output movie files in QuickTime Movie (Mac OS X/Windows) or AVI (Windows) file formats. With Shade 3D Standard and Professional, you can also output numbered image files to JPEG, PNG, BMP, TIFF, PSD, PFM, Targa file formats, or even in 3D stereoscopic output to format such as MPO.

Rendering

Shade 3D offers a wide variety of powerful rendering tools, for achieving photorealistic quality in your rendered images. These tools include global illumination rendering options such as Photon mapping, Path Tracing and Radiosity, as well as powerful Ray Tracing renderer. Shade 3D comes with image based lighting and HDRI image support, which enable to generate high-quality photorealistic image.

Global illumination is a rendering technique that generates more realistic images with soft shadow by calculating not only direct light from the light source, but also a variety of light phenomena such as diffuse lighting, mutual reflection and shadow between objects, refraction of transmitted light, mirror reflection, and caustics. The Global illumination Renderer options include Photon Mapping, Ray Tracing, Path Tracing and Radiosity for photorealistic imagery.

Shade 3D offers network rendering which called ShadeGrid Rendering Server by using TCP/IP protocol, for reduced rendering time and improved productivity by using other available machines CPU resource through local network. Shade 3D’s network rendering supports the Ray Tracing, Path Tracing and Radiosity rendering techniques. The Rendering Servers can run on both Windows and Mac OS X, with the same system requirements as Shade 3D ver.14. ShadeGrid Rendering Servers can be installed on as many computers as needed on a network for Professional version or additional machine for Standard and Basic version.

3D Printing

Shade 3D Printing Assistant offers error checks with geometry and optimize 3D models before 3D printing. Thickness tool help you to reduce the 3D printing cost and output your watertight model into STL format. You can even import other STL format data and modify it inside Shade 3D by using polygonal modeling tools.

User Interface

Shade 3D’s user-friendly Graphical User Interface makes it easy for users of all levels to jump right in and start working with the program. Shade 3D’s rich suite of 3D graphics tools and plugins are available through one seamless interface. Shade 3D includes a large set of customizable user shortcuts, and Python scripting for improved workflow and increased productivity.

Productivity and Expandability

All three levels of Shade 3D include a diverse set of plugins, to improve productivity and program function. Shade 3D Standard and Professional offers extensive functional expansion through Script and SDK Plugin interfaces, allowing users to write and easily integrate scripts and plugins into Shade’s program.
