Sometimes that light at the end of the tunnel is a train

Shade 3D and trains...

Yamashita san is an amazing guy who has a very interesting passion: Train modeling! He is a recognized specialist in this modeling field and his work has been featured in many specialized magazines such as "Hobby Magazine" (see following pictures from the October 2014 and June 2015 issues - click to enlarge).

But what would be the link between Yamashita san's hobby and Shade 3D? Yes, you got it! 3D printing!

Yamashita san really wanted to use a 3D printer to achieve new things and goals in his hobby but he had almost no knowledge in 3DCG software. So he asked Detta, one of Shade 3D's CG designer, to teach him a bit of 3D with Shade...

What could possibly be the result? (click the picture below to enlarge it)

Well, that is only a first step, a first grip on Shade 3D! Lets see what's happens next!

For a second session, it looks like we got some progress! It does look like a train all right! Lets get to the serious business and check it out with a 3D Printer!

Well,... That was not exactly what Yamashita san was expecting. It's gonna need some more work!

After understanding that it was settings and an STL calibration issue, Yamashita san, with the help of Detta, tried new prints. You will see that the results look clearly better...

Yamashita san is quite amazed by the quality of his first real print! The best is yet to come!

The last 3D Printing session is finally over and the results are really great. That is probably the first train model of a long serie of 3D prints that Yamashita san will create!

After firing the Up Mini, it was time to get serious and use some resin 3D printer! Yamashita san can do a real great paint job on this resin model:

A real team work brought to life Yamashita san's ideas! From a computer with Shade 3D (with no 3D experience) to some print test and finally an amazing final product, Yamashita san has demonstrated that anybody can use 3DCG to achieve their creative target!

You feel you are up to the challenge? Any creative idea to be brought to reality? Why not take the shot with Shade 3D?
